How does it work?

For residential pick up we supply you with one five gallon bucket fitted with a screw-top lid. You choose whether we pick it up once a week, or once every other week (see pricing below). You must place your bucket at the curb by 7am on your pick up day. You must only put in your bucket what we accept (all food scraps)…see our info sheet (->) or FAQ page for more information.

When we come for your bucket we will leave a clean one in its place. Buckets usually come with biochar dusted in the bottom for odor control and for adding to our compost piles.

We work with curbwise, so depending on where you are on our route your bucket may be picked up with bicycle power!

Commercial services

For restaurants and other businesses, we will supply up to five 5-gallon buckets or multiple 32-gallon bins swapped weekly. Before signing up your business, please reach out to Kelly (kelly@bucketruckus.cc) to discuss your needs.

Bin service starts at $30/month for one 32-gallon container serviced weekly.

Give the gift of curbside composting!

Whether for birthdays, holidays, or no special occasion in particular, you can give the gift of easy composting with Bucket Ruckus. We offer one year subscriptions as gifts, at $148 (every-other week pick up) or $276.50 (weekly pick up). Follow the link below for whichever service you would like to gift.
