How does it work?

For paid residential pick up customers, we supply you with one five gallon bucket fitted with a screw-top lid. You choose whether we pick it up once a week, or once every other week (see pricing above). You must place your bucket at the curb by 7am on your pick up day. You must only put in your bucket what we accept (all food scraps). See our info sheet (->) or FAQ page for more information.

When using the free drop site, you are responsible for collecting and transporting your compostables, as well as maintaining your own container. You must respect our list of acceptable compostable items and take responsibility for ensuring that no garbage makes it into our containers. When we come for your bucket we will leave a clean one in its place. Buckets usually come with biochar dusted in the bottom for odor control and for adding to our compost piles.

Commercial services

For restaurants and other businesses, we will supply up to five 5-gallon buckets or multiple 32-gallon bins swapped weekly. Reach out to Kelly (kelly@bucketruckus.cc) to discuss so we can get you on the best plan for your needs!
